Dialogue with the present.
Located in Huarte (Navarre), 5 km from Pamplona, this new 6,500 m2 cultural space inaugurated in October 2007 is located barely an hour and a half from some of the most important contemporary art centres and museums such as the Guggenheim in Bilbao, the Artium in Vitoria, the future Krea Contemporary Expression Centre in the same city or what will be the future International Contemporary Culture Centre of San Sebastián.
The Huarte Centre is the first cultural facility in Navarre, specifically conceived to house exhibitions and activities related to both contemporary art (with special attention to the emerging international scene) and the most current creations.
Conceived as an open space, the Centre’s agenda has space for both parallel activities related with modern art and all type of artistic expressions in creative atmospheres such as performing arts, design, architecture, music, cinema, literature, comics... and related areas.
The Centre also has various priority objectives: support artistic production and be a space of reference for young artists of Navarre; demonstrate the social relevance of contemporary art and be an experimental Centre for the design and development of customized projects, along with a space of interrelation which will try to give a response to the new artistic ideas and languages that are developing in the contemporary world.
> Programme:
The Centre sets its sight on artists termed “fringe”, artists with a custom language that begin to capture international and national attention in any of the forms of artistic expression.
The annual programme includes a maximum of 9 exhibitions divided into three provisional phases, to which 6 exhibitions will be added in the ‘Plataforma’ hall.
