Huarte - Navarra

> Huarte.

The town of Huarte’s interest is twofold. On the one hand, the attractiveness it possesses and the natural surroundings where it is located, and on the other, being a privileged geographic point because of its proximity to Navarra’s most interesting natural spaces.

The town’s characteristics that stand out are the San Esteban neighbourhood’s architectural aspect with its remarkable old style houses.  Or the Church of San Juan, which began its activity in the 13th century and offers the visitor sufficient redeeming features to be of interest.  Modernness also has a place in our town. The unique buildings of the Primary School and Virgen Blanca Private School are a good example of this.  The Patxi Buldain Foundation is also a town attraction, both for the building’s architecture, designed by the architect from Navarra Victor Eusa, and the pictorial works it houses.

Huarte has a unique environment. The town lies on the bank of the Arga River and the side of Mount Miravalles, through which the Route to Santiago passes; Huarte has a large amount of green tourism available.  The Irati Forest and the Roncal valleys are found 40 minutes away by car and at less than 20 minutes, the gorge of Lumbier, Huarte is the starting point of many different routes and excursions.

The Jorge Oteiza Museum is also found close to Huarte, which in itself justifies a visit to view the sculptor’s magnificent work.  Located at the same distance, 5 minutes by car, one can find Pamplona and its historic quarter, making Huarte a central enclave in Navarra’s geography.

> Navarra: Land of diversity.

Because you will be able to enjoy great diversity in the few kilometres that separate Navarra’s north from the south.

Close your eyes, listen to the sound of the leafy beech wood in the Irati Jungle and feel the cold blue of the Pyrenees mountains on your face. Open your eyes and listen to the magic silence that accompanies the infinite earthy colours of the desert landscape of the Bardenas Reales.

Move your body to the rhythm of the San Fermín festival and your feet to the steady step of the pilgrim who travels from Roncesvalles towards Santiago on the Way of St. James.

Let yourself be seduced by the flavours of the north like the artisan sheep cheese and the shepherd’s ‘migas’ (fried breadcrumbs with garlic), or by the Ebro’s vegetables accompanied by the excellent soups from Navarra.

Discover these and many other possibilities that the ancient Kingdom of Navarra offers.
