“Carteles de empapelar” was born from observation of the streets around us that are covered with advertising signs that, given their concentration, lose the informative purpose for which they were put up. Independent of this primary objective, Nerea de Diego attempts, using the repetition of very diverse signs, to create a sensation of a whole that involves the work’s surroundings, forming a mosaic that is reminiscent of wallpaper and that significantly alters the perception of place.
Playing with diverse motifs, different atmospheres are created in the street that remind viewers of the rooms of a home, in an attempt to reflect the private sphere in a public space.
